Heather Safrit

With a life-long passion for color and structural design, Heather began her career as an artist in 2024 as an escape from the day-to-day stresses of running her real estate development and management business. A life-long entrepreneur, with a Master of Mass Communications degree from the University of Georgia, Heather selected oil as her medium, as she was fascinated by the range and depth of hue it allows as well as its ability to build movement and feeling with blending and layers. A native of Savannah, Georgia, Heather is drawn to coastal scenes and the objects of nature from her childhood spent on the waterways and in the marshlands around the barrier islands of the Georgia and South Carolina Lowcountry. They are her primary inspiration. She also has a deep love of travel and curiosity about people and cultures, which goes back to her undergraduate days at Sweet Briar College then the University of Georgia, where she received Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Sociology and Anthropology. Her desire to understand different societies, standards of beauty and natural systems has influenced her work, inspiring her to seek out unique, breathtaking landscapes both domestically and abroad. Recent favorite destinations include Egypt, Sri Lanka and Normandy, France. Heather currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida, with her three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Kate, Frances and Annie.
