Susie is a lifelong artist. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the South- Sewanee and Masters in Art Education from Ohio State. She has been the Educator for Outreach at the Frist for the Visual Arts. She currently teaches art at Harpeth Hall School. She spends weekends and summers in Sewanee where she and her husband own Shenanigan’s, an iconic restaurant and favorite local hang out which also houses an art gallery where she and other regional artists display their work. She is inspired by her time on the mountain as well as her extensive travels. In her painting, she explores southern landscapes, whimsical animals and colorful portraits.
